This newish technology, which provides a continuous stream of data, is awesome for many reasons. From the consumer's perspective, it implies saving time since one does not have to download a file first, and then consume it. Also, members of the public do not have to manage vast quantities of data and space on their computer's hard drive or external disks anymore, since there is no data to download and save as such. From the content producers' perspective, streaming also offers great opportunities: with internet videos and webcasts of live events, there is no file to download.
Stock footage is the older compilation of feature and non-feature films. Many production houses keep the old movie or video pictures in their media stores. Stock footage is quite useful in making fresh ideas and materials for new films, serials, documentaries and wildlife programs.
Remember those days of the 80s and early 90s when our favorite stop in the local market would be the "Video Library" that succeeded in delighting us each time we went there. The era that was ruled and dominated by a gadget loved by one and all, old or young - the Video Cassette Recorder or more commonly the VCR. The 80s was a time when cable TV had far from reached India in any form.
